A new softie from Rhymes with Twee and my artichoke tattoo at Pitchfork!
This past weekend was the annual Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, IL. I’ve wanted to attend for years, but I wasn’t able to until now. My 19-year-old self would probably have enjoyed the music and hippie/hipster crowd a little more than I did at 24, but I had an awesome time meeting crafters at the Coterie Chicago market on the Pitchfork Festival grounds. According to their website:
“Coterie is a cadre of individuals united under a common purpose. At Coterie Chicago, you will find handmade goods created by a skilled artisan workforce committed to providing cutting-edge art, style, and accessories that enhance your life. Buying directly from the maker creates a heightened sense of community and puts a real value on your time and quality of life in a way that products made overseas or in a factory just cannot provide. Now, more than ever, buying products from local artists and makers puts you at the forefront of real, lasting economic and creative stimulus.
Support local artists, makers, musicians, craftspeople and businesses for building better, more stable communities.”
There were so many awesome sellers with interesting wares last weekend. Here are the highlights – click the images for links to sellers’ websites/Etsy shops.

Lovely to meet you, Heidi! Thanks so much for loving my designs. Maybe an asparagus is next on my list?
Yes! For my wedding, one of my BFFs made me a giant artichoke and asparagus (http://www.handsoccupied.com/2011/02/omg-best-gift-ever/) that we then used for photo booth props (http://www.handsoccupied.com/2011/03/wedding-photo-booth-pics/). I thought you’d appreciate them.
Thank you for including Mano y Metal in this lovely post!
