Wednesday was the last day I attended the 2012 Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago. My friend The Candy Fan encouraged me to participate, and we had an awesome time. (All pics in this post were taken by TCF, except the last one.) Check out my post about day 1 of the expo if you just can’t get enough candy. In the coming weeks and months, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on some of the candy I scored at the Expo. For now, here are some highlights and my favorite candies & snacks discovered this week.
I met a Peep!
Crazy dill pickle lip balm!
There was also some crazy inhalable chocolate that I haven’t had the guts to try yet. It’s part of a line of products called Aero Shots. They also have an inhalable caffeine product. Aero Shots are an interesting idea, you should check out their website to see how they work.
My favorite finds from the Expo
In no particular order, these were the standout flavors and products I wanted to share from Tuesday & Wednesday.
Funky Monkey Snacks – fruit dried while fresh (not frozen). No added sugar, high in fiber. Just 1 point in Weight Watchers. Basically, great for lil old hypoglycemic me.
Nopal Brothers’ Sweet & Spicy Nopalitos Dried Snacks – Snacks made from cactus! They come in sweet and spicy flavors. They’re not pretty, but are incredibly tasty. I can’t find their website, but they won a big innovation award at the expo.
Stonewall’s Jerquee – vegetarian jerkey in tons of flavors. The teriyaki variety is my favorite.
Surf Sweets jelly beans – natural and veggie friendly jelly beans. I ate like 4 of their sample cups amidst 2 straight days of gorging on candy and snacks – they’re that good.
Speaking of gorging myself for 2 straight days…
Um, so here’s my new candy stash thanks to all of the crazy awesome vendors. That’s my 3′x7′ sewing table, literally covered in candy, chips, pretzels, granola bars, gum, nuts, chocolate inhalers, and more. Ri-dic-u-lous!
