New YarnTalk alert! In this episode, we got a little creative with a couple of new segments and approaches to segments. Allyson interviews designer Carina Spencer in person about some of her latest and upcoming designs. I do a good old trends segment, but this time instead of talking about a trending design element, I share the pros and cons of a special type of yarn that big brands keep releasing: the chainette yarn. Leah & Allyson do a little beer-plus-show-and-tell session to give us a sneak peek of their upcoming collections. And of course, we all share what we’re dying to cast on. (Disclaimer: I look way tired in this episode. I blame the head cold, Robitussin and general lack of sleep the day of this shoot.)
While my trends segment is done mostly in our traditional structure, this one’s about chainette yarns. On Monday, I shared a look at the yarns I’m designing with right now, and one of them is a chainette. Check out the episode for a look at my newest pattern that will be available on Ravelry later today, the Quinque Cowl, knit in Shibui Maai. I’m wearing the cowl in this episode, and you can peep a pic of the finished knit in two color combos during my trends segment in the middle of this episode. I’m super excited to release this new design!
