I grew up in North Dakota, and every time I fly home for a visit I’m treated to a spectacular, quilt-like view of the farmland surrounding my hometown. If you’re a regular reader, you know that a good friend of mine had a baby two weeks ago. As soon as I saw this carpeting idea from Freshome, I immediately decided that if my fiance (who grew up on a farm) and I ever had a kid, this would be the perfect nursery flooring option for us.
This doesn’t look like it would be too hard to make, either. Just get some aerial photos of a landscape that’s meaningful to us and blow it up. Then find some carpet remnants or samples in the right colors, cut them out, arrange them appropriately and find some way to secure them. Ok, maybe this project would take a bit of time, but it’s totally doable.
