The Yarn: Manos del Uruguay Serpentina
Colorway pictured: Malala
Skein details: 142 yards / 130 m / 3.5 oz. / 100g / hand dyed & handspun / 100% Superwash Merino Wool
For knitters: US 8, 5 mm / approx. 16 stitches & 20 rows over 4 inches
For crocheters: US G, 5 mm / approx. 15 sc over 4 inches
Cons: Even though this yarn is 100% superwash wool, it’s still a little bit of a pain to wind into a ball. It tends to stick to itself. Definitely worth keeping in mind if you get frustrated with tangles easily, but overall, the stickiness is a small price to pay for the pretty factor. :)
Pros: The amazing colorways named for and inspired by badass women! So not only is it gorgeous yarn from a company that’s certified fair trade and supports women, it has this additional pro-woman layer to it, which I am SO down for.
Pattern ideas: Since this yarn’s width varies a bit, you’ve got to keep that in mind when selecting a project. I think this would look excellent with the Long John Cowl for knitters, and crocheters might want to try the Round Granny Cushion pattern to show off this yarn right in your living room.
