November Sponsor Spotlight

November Sponsor Spotlight at Hands Occupied

PostStitch / Mountain Meadow Wool / Feel Good Yarn Co.

I was so caught up in putting together the 12 ornaments of Christmas that I forgot to thank our amazing November sponsors before today! We’ve got three veteran sponsors to look at, all of which I love working with. Let’s check them out!

Mountain Meadow Wool

Mountain Meadow Wool's Powell yarn in Fern and Natural

Mountain Meadow Wool is a fiber mill and yarn company out of Buffalo, Wyoming. Not only do they keep the rancher involved in the yarn they produce, but MMW lists the farms from which their fibers are sourced on the labels of their yarns. It’s really, really cool to see a company dedicated to their process like MMW is!

What I love: As you might have seen in last month’s currently knitting post, I’m in the early design stages for a pattern with MMW’s Powell yarn. Powell is an 85% wool/15% alpaca worsted weight blend yarn, and it’s delightfully earthy and dense in the best way! I’m so looking forward to releasing the design in 2016. :)

Feel Good Yarn Co.

Feel Good Yarn Co. yarn is would with real silver, making it conductive, therapeutic, and totally innovative.

Feel Good Yarn Company makes SilverSpun yarn in the U.S. with American-sourced fibers. They have an interesting story, and you can learn about them & their innovative yarn in my recent review of SilverSpun Sport. If you’re looking to make some super-simple touchscreen gloves, you can try the ones I made with FGY’s yarn here.

What I love: I’m a fan of Feel Good Yarn’s 6 color sampler kit because it gives knitters a chance to play with many of FGY’s new colors. Maybe it’s my obsession with designing & trying new techniques, but having a new yarn to try out is always a good thing!

PostStitch

PostStitch is a knitting project subscription service that also hosts an online shop. They ship two knitting project boxes a month, a BigStitch Box and a SockStitch box. If you’re brand new to them and want to know what to expect from one of their boxes, you can read this review I did last year.

What I love: My favorite color is red, which might make me biased, but I love the cowl PostStitch featured their November subscription box. Pictured above, the Cherry Lane Cowl by Felicia Lo is darling, and you can get everything to knit it in the November BigStitch Box.

I purchased the Silver spun yarn because of your spotlight on your blog. Will have to try the other things too. Thanks for the reviews.

A note on Very Serious Crafts: In the post I discuss stepping away from the @seriouscrafts podcast to give myself more time to devote to some minor medical issues. Don’t you worry - my health will be fine, & @molliejohanson @redhandledscissors and I are still pals, and after a short break of their own, the podcast will be back! Just sans moi. 💁🏼‍♀️😆
