Now that I’m designing full time, I’m finding myself in the delightful position of having a lot of designs on my plate. As a result, I am going to be in need of some test knitters (and soon test crocheters as well!) for designs.
What is test knitting/crocheting?
Basically, when I have a new design drafted and formatted, I will need folks to try knitting (or crocheting) the new pattern to let me know if they run into issues, find errors, or think something could be written more clearly.
What’s in it for you?
Free yarn! If you test knit/crochet for Hands Occupied, you’ll get yarn to do your project, plus free samples of notions, yarn, knitting/crochet books, etc. when I have them. You’d be surprised how much stuff you accumulate from companies as a blogger, and I’d like to share the love (and free stuff)!
Interested? Drop me a line at Heidi-at-handsoccupied-dot-com, subject line Tester. Let me know in the email what your knitting background is and if you’re on Ravelry (feel free to friend me there too!). I’ll add you to my list of testers to reach out to via email whenever I have new designs for testing.

Tester
Hi, I love your blog and am very interested in becoming a tester.
Thanks for sharing your great ideas!
Tester
Would love to be a tester. I both knit and crochet, I can be found on Ravelry as Jairiana.
Judy
I am interested in being a tester. I love your patterns and color choices. I just discovered your blog and plan to be a frequent visitor.
I’m interessed ! I send you an email ! :-)
Would like to give a try at testing crochet patterns. My grandma taught me the stitches when I was very young. I learned to read patterns later on. I’ve crocheted many gifts over the years. I’m still a work in progress, learning constantly!
Would like to give a try at testing crochet patterns.
I am new in crocheting baby blankets, and scarves. I have made shell stitch baby blankets, ripple stitch, scarves, and baby blankets. and light and lacey scarves, and never ending
granny square baby blankets, and one bed spread.
I am interested in becoming a tester. Please let me know if there is a time limit.
Sincerely,
Sheila John
I would like to try being a knit tester.
Miss Heidi,
I would love to have the opportunity to be a test knitter for you. I have been knitting and crocheting for over 40 years. Thank you
Sharon
P.S. I am a Raverly member, too!
Hi Heidi,
Tried to email you but it says it’s an invalid address. Could you please let me know what you’re email address is because the one from your post isn’t working,
Thanks. x x
Are you using at signs (@) and dots (.) instead of the words? It’s a technique for avoiding spam. Others have been able to email the listed address.
Ok, thanks Heidi, I struggle with technology sometimes! It’s sent now. x x
Heidi, I have tried to use the email listed, says invalid recipient. I’m interested in being a tester, I knit and crochet. Any suggestions??
Just emailed – thanks for your patience! We’re at about 75 responses so far, and I’m taking the time to email everyone individually. Best!
Hi Heidi!
I could be a test knitter or crocheter. Been knitting for 56 years and crocheting for 46. Also, I enjoy trying out new to me patterns as a challenge! Hope you consider me as a tester. I too couldn’t get email to work. :-(
I’m sorry to hear that. Did you try typing it as shown in the response to the comment above?
I have been knitting since I was 12 years old (I am 68 now). I would like to try being a tester.
Heidi, sorry, I’ve tried several times to contact you…still getting invalid receipitant
Would like to be included as tester, both knit and crochet.
Dear Heidi, I would like to try test knitting or crocheting for you. I’ve been doing both on and off for years. But in the last 2 years I’ve really been obsessed with both. My ravelry page is kamiller76. I still work part time but I’m a late night, early morning person so would love for you to consider me.
Thank you
Kim Miller

I would love to be a test knitters. I have been knitting for 18 years and can knit anything, cables, fair isle, lace… You name it, I’ve done it! My ravelry.com is tbird29466, but I’ve only just started using it, so not a ton of things are on it, since most of my knitting has gone out as presents.
Thanks,
Tara Burns
