Test Knitters & Crocheters Needed!

October 19, 2016 33 Comments

Collage of knitting designs by Heidi Gustad

Now that I’m designing full time, I’m finding myself in the delightful position of having a lot of designs on my plate. As a result, I am going to be in need of some test knitters (and soon test crocheters as well!) for designs.

What is test knitting/crocheting?
Basically, when I have a new design drafted and formatted, I will need folks to try knitting (or crocheting) the new pattern to let me know if they run into issues, find errors, or think something could be written more clearly.

What’s in it for you?
Free yarn! If you test knit/crochet for Hands Occupied, you’ll get yarn to do your project, plus free samples of notions, yarn, knitting/crochet books, etc. when I have them. You’d be surprised how much stuff you accumulate from companies as a blogger, and I’d like to share the love (and free stuff)!

Interested? Drop me a line at Heidi-at-handsoccupied-dot-com, subject line Tester. Let me know in the email what your knitting background is and if you’re on Ravelry (feel free to friend me there too!). I’ll add you to my list of testers to reach out to via email whenever I have new designs for testing.

Hands Occupied is seeking test knitteres & crocheters for new designs.

Would like to give a try at testing crochet patterns. My grandma taught me the stitches when I was very young. I learned to read patterns later on. I’ve crocheted many gifts over the years. I’m still a work in progress, learning constantly!

Are you using at signs (@) and dots (.) instead of the words? It’s a technique for avoiding spam. Others have been able to email the listed address.

Dear Heidi, I would like to try test knitting or crocheting for you. I’ve been doing both on and off for years. But in the last 2 years I’ve really been obsessed with both. My ravelry page is kamiller76. I still work part time but I’m a late night, early morning person so would love for you to consider me.
    Thank you

I would love to be a test knitters. I have been knitting for 18 years and can knit anything, cables, fair isle, lace… You name it, I’ve done it! My ravelry.com is tbird29466, but I’ve only just started using it, so not a ton of things are on it, since most of my knitting has gone out as presents.

    Thanks,

I’m not sure if you’re still looking for test knitters, but I would be interested in test knitting for you. I have been knitting for ten years and just started crocheting. My ravelry name is MajaFP, although I don’t have much on there since I just started using it.
    Thanks!
