Look at my beautiful, tall friends!
About a month ago, I was hanging out at knit night with some friends and after a stressful day. I’d been on an all day shoot for some videos I hosted, my brain was fried, I was overheated from the lights, and my shoulders were killing me from working in an awkward position all day. Needless to say, I was doing more drinking than knitting at that knit night. ;) My friend (and super talented designer) Allyson and I were chatting about video work, and I sort of just blurted out a seed of an idea I’d had in the back of my mind for a few weeks: What if a couple of young knitting designers did a talk show online? Allyson was on board right away, and suggested we add another Chicago-based designer friend Leah to the mix too.
The show we came up with is called YarnTalk (yeah, somehow that was available on most social networks, whoda thunk, right?), and we’ll be uploading a new episode to YouTube every two weeks. The first episode features segments about knitting in the news, what’s trending in the design world, patterns we can’t wait to cast on (CWTCO), and an interview with another young designer, Sarah Hurwitz, whose Eleve Pullover knocked our socks of in the summer issue of Knitscene magazine.
This first episode just went live, and I can’t wait for you to watch it and let us know what you think! If you want to subscribe, you can do that on our YouTube channel. If you have suggestions for future segments, designers to feature, patterns you’d love to see us talk about, or anything else, you can leave a comment here or on YouTube, use #yarntalk on social media or email us at yarntalkshow-at-gmail-dot-com.
