Workshops & Events
Read Along Knit Along In Real Life (#readalongIRL)
Every Friday in September & October, 4-8 p.m. at Firefly Fiber Arts in Chicago
Every Friday during the Read Along Knit Along (What's that? Read all about it here.), we'll meet up at a local yarn shop from 4-8 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their own refreshments to the event. The shop will have a prize to be raffled off on the last Friday we meet in October. Each time you attend a Read Along IRL event, you can enter to win the prize! This is a lot of fun, and I'll be in attendance each week to guide our discussion of The Snow Child & help if you get stuck on your climb up Intarsia Mountain. ;)
October & November Meet Ups!
Wed. 10/24, 6-9 p.m. & Wed. 11/28, 6-9 p.m.
at The Logan Theatre in Chicago
It's the monthly Hands Occupied knit, crochet & craft night! The only requirements are to bring yourself, a project, and buy something from the venue to help thank them for using their space. There will also be a giveaway for one lucky attendee! Must be present to win.
MORE ON THE VENUE:
The Logan Theater has an attached bar and concession counter where you can get snacks & drinks, plus they have a well-lit lounge with comfy seating, perfect for chatting & crafting.

Crochet the Worker Bee Bag & Worker Bee Clutch during the Read Along Crochet Along, April 1-30! This adorable bag uses filet crochet, baubles, and elongated stitches to create a fun, textural piece perfect for spring! Preorder between now and April 1 to save on the pattern.
It’s a new year, and there’s so much to celebrate! A lot of us have cold temps as a great excuse to spend time hunkered down with needles and hooks, but if you’re looking for a cozy place to warm up in January or February, I’ve got a few ideas.
Learn all about the workshops scheduled for the next few months. Let knitting expert Heidi Gustad of Hands Occupied teach you how to knit from scratch, or take a more advanced class if you’re ready to level up your knitting game.
