How to use my photographs

Features are good. They’re a great way for new readers to find Hands Occupied. However, you must limit the use of Hands Occupied photographs to 1 or 2 per feature, and please email heidi at handsoccupied dot com to let me know about the feature (though the email communication is optional). If you use more more than that, you are not encouraging readers to visit Hands Occupied to see the full post my work was originally used in, resulting in less traffic to me, the content owner and creator. A lot of work goes into each post I write, and particularly, each tutorial I design and produce, so please be respectful of the fact that Hands Occupied is a legitimate business that requires traffic to earn some of its revenue.

When I feature work that is not my own

I try to keep the Golden Rule  in mind when I feature others’ work. I will never use more than 1 or 2 photos when featuring someone else’s content unless I have explicit, written permission. Most often, photographs featured on Hands Occupied that were not taken by me will be part of the Inspiration category of posts, and some will be part of a giveaway or product review. Photos that are not my own work that fall under the giveaway or review category are used with permission. When I feature photos that aren’t my own, a prominent link to a photo’s owner’s site will be included. Content owners, if you’re unhappy with my use of your work, please don’t hesitate to contact me at heidi at handsoccupied dot com.

Payment

Orders may only be placed via our website. We do not accept orders via email and accept no responsibility for credit card information provided to us via email that may be viewed by third parties.

When you place an order with us, you agree to the price and terms indicated on this website. Price differences related to future or past prices in our store or any other store or website are not refundable.

When you use a credit card to place an order, the billing address you provide must match the billing address that is on file with the financial institution that issued the credit card. If a credit card authorization fails, we reserve the right to cancel your order.

We cannot resolve or investigate credit card problems with any cardholder’s financial institution if a credit card is declined. Only the cardholder has the ability to resolve credit card problems with the issuing bank.

Changes and Cancellations

Workshops

No changes (additions, partial deductions or substitutions) can be made to your order once it has been placed. If you would like to sign up for additional workshops or purchase additional goods, please do so by placing an additional order via the website.

Schedules change and life happens, we understand. You may cancel your workshop purchase for store credit up to 48 hours in advance of the workshop time.

We reserve the right to cancel any order placed on our website at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. A full refund will be issued at the time of order cancellation along with an email notification that the order has been cancelled.

Pattern PDFs & Physical Goods

No cancellations or changes (additions, partial deductions or substitutions) can be made to your order once it has been placed. If you would like to order more goods, please do so by placing an additional order via the website.

We reserve the right to cancel any order placed on our website at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. A full refund will be issued at the time of order cancellation along with an email notification that the order has been cancelled.

International Shipments

International customers are responsible for any customs, taxes or duty charges incurred by their government. Hands Occupied shipments will be represented on customs forms as “knitting supplies”, “knitting patterns”, “crochet supplies” or “crochet patterns” with the actual invoice price, not including shipping. Hands Occupied is unable to intervene with another country’s customs office to instigate the release of a shipment.

Returning Merchandise

We want you to be thrilled with your order! But if for any reason you’re not, we hope you’ll let us know why. For physical goods, like pattern kits and supplies, we will accept the merchandise back within 30 days for a full refund.

You can return unused, unopened items in their original condition and original packaging within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. The refund will be for the purchase price of the returned items. Shipping and handling fees will not be refunded.

Please note:

  • Shipping charges are not refundable on returned items. (If we made a mistake with your order, or if the item is defective, we may refund the cost of shipping back the items.)
  • We cannot exchange items. (The original item must first be returned to us for a refund, and a separate purchase placed via our website for the alternative item.)
  • We cannot issue refunds for PDFs or any downloadable file.
  • We cannot issue a refund before we receive the returned items.

How to Initiate a Return

To initiate a return, you must first obtain a Return Number from us. Email heidi [at] handsoccupied [dot] com with “Return Request #(your order number)” in the subject line of your email. Note that your order number should match the order number that includes the goods you want to return. We will not initiate the return process for any order that has not yet shipped from us.

If you choose to return an item, we recommend using a shipping method that can be tracked and insured for your protection. We cannot issue refunds on items not returned to or received by us.

Credit for returned items will be applied to the credit card used to make the purchase. Returns will be applied to this same credit card within 5 to 10 days of the returned items being received by Hands Occupied.

Refunds

As soon as we receive your returned goods, we will notify you via email. Your credit card should be credited within 10 business days of the time that you receive this email from us. The return credit should be reflected on your statement within one or two billing periods, depending on your financial institution’s billing cycle.

Defective or Damaged Items

If you receive defective or damaged merchandise, please contact us within 15 days for assistance. We accept no responsibility for damage incurred during use of our products.

Delayed, Lost, or Returned Shipments

Orders are shipped to the address you provide to us at checkout. We do not take responsibility for delays experienced by the USPS, or for replacement or refund of lost orders submitted to us with incorrect or incomplete delivery information.

Your order may be delayed if an item is out of inventory, or we have a question for you about your order. We reserve the right to delay shipment of any order we have a question about. We will contact you by the email address provided to us with your order. We accept no responsibility for delays pending communication about your order.

If your order comes back to us marked “Return to Sender – Attempted Not Known” by the USPS, we will contact you for an alternate or corrected address. We will re-ship returned orders of shipping charges under $10.00, one time, free of new shipping charges. If the order is returned to us a second time, renewed shipping charges will apply.

Price and/or Description Changes

All prices, pictures, and descriptions on this website are subject to change without notice. We do our very best to depict and describe the products accurately. We maintain no responsibility for inadvertent errors. Please contact us within 30 days regarding price or promotion discrepancies.

Refunds cannot be issued for voucher code discounts that are not applied or redeemed at the time of checkout and payment.

Sale and discounted prices are valid only during the time they are offered or for the time the voucher code is active. Refunds cannot be made for the difference in price on any item purchased at full retail cost before or after a discounted or sale price was offered.

Errors on Our Site

Prices and availability of products are subject to change without notice. Errors will be corrected where and when discovered. We reserve the right to revoke any stated offer, cancel orders, and to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in any stated offer or price, including after an order has been submitted and whether or not the order has been confirmed and your payment processed.

If your payment has been processed for the purchase when your order is cancelled, we will issue a credit to the payment method used in the amount of the charge. Individual bank policies will determine when this amount is credited to your account.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hands Occupied, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, consultants, and agents from any and all claims, liability (including product liability), damages, and/or costs (including, but not limited to, attorneys’ fees) that arise from your use of any of Hands Occupied’s services.

Instagram post 18043011205209234 Happy weekend, everyone! There are several new faces today, so to you, I say welcome! 😊 I’m Heidi, the knitting, crochet and yarn crafts designer behind Hands Occupied. I’m based in Chicago, where I work out of a small studio space, the Hands Occupied Studio. Every week I host an open Craft Night and on the last Sunday of the month we have a Crafternoon. They’re all free and open to anyone who wants to hang out and craft with others (snacks are always welcome!). .
.

A little about me: I’m a knit and crochet pattern designer, but I’m really about all things string, from crochet to macramé. Lately I’ve been particularly obsessed with contemporary latch hook and punch needle trends. However, in my recent handmade wardrobe projects I’ve been drawn to everything vintage. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Funny how that works! 😆.
.

In addition to the blog, design work, and the Studio, I co-host the Very @seriouscrafts Podcast, a top 10-ranked crafts podcast heading into our third season in 2020! 🎙 That about covers it - thanks so much for indulging a long caption 🙏🏼 , and I’m so glad to have you here! ☺️❤️💛💙 #handsoccupied #veryseriouscrafts
