April 5, 2017 1 Comment

Join the Read Along Knit Along, make a pair of fun socks & enter to win a bundle of prizes!
Thank you, everyone, for another successful Read Along Knit Along! With all of the extraordinary circumstances happening in my life last month, I appreciate SO MUCH how everyone came together to keep talking about books and socks while I was indisposed. I have big plans for the next Read Along Knit Along, which we’ll do this fall! Like huge plans – a design inspired by one of my favorite books ever, a design I’ve been envisioning for over a year, and BIG prizes. Seriously. Everything is for sure in the development stages, but keep your eyes peeled for announcements coming late this summer. I can’t wait!

Giveaway winners!

On to what you’re here for – the announcement of the giveaway winners. :) Congratulations to Ravelry user debwendler for being our first RALKAL finisher, and she’s won literary-inspired yarn from Skeins in the Stacks. Congrats are also in order for knittingibird for winning the overall RALKAL giveaway prize, a copy of Barbara Walker’s A Treasury of Knitting Patterns (the source of the rickrack rib stitch used in this design) as well as a gorgeous skein of ColorPurl High Street yarn in Deep Space (the gorgeous blue yarn you’ve seen in all of the photos for this KAL!).

ColorPurl High Street Yarn in the Deep Space colorway - a rich combination of royal blue and navy hues.
A huge thank you to ColorPurl and Skeinsinthestacks for sponsoring yarn giveaways during this RALKAL! The giveaway book was provided by me.

(What can I say, I lost a game of yarn chicken. 😂) I almost didn’t post this because I was worried someone might have some nonsense to say about my ability to knit. Then I remembered I can’t care about that. Silly me, I almost forgot myself!

Speaking of which, dang it’s good to have my mental health back consistently after the past couple of years. The anxious parts of my personality are just chilling, rather than constantly screaming that my work isn’t good enough to share. The confident parts of me that matter have me creating (and starting to share my creations & process with strangers and friends) again!
