Store Tour: Unglued – Fargo, ND

July 15, 2014 4 Comments

Store Tour: Unglued - Fargo, ND at HandsOccupied.com

If you’ve read this blog for awhile, you might know that I am from Fargo. The Fargo. Yeah, yeah, I’ve heard every possible comment on the movie, the new show, my blond hair, accent, etc. Stereotypes aside, Fargo has always had a fun downtown, but every time I’m home, its cultural landmarks seem to be getting more and more awesome. I mean, Fargo has always been known in the needlecraft world for being home to Nordic Needle (see my Nordic Needle store tour here). Now Fargo also has a super store bringing the cutting edge of DIY to the prairie. Unglued is a fantastic shop carrying an enormous range of handmade wares, cupcakes, offering DIY classes, a kids’ summer camp, an annual craft fair, and I’m sure much more that I’m missing out on from my adult home in the Windy City!

PS: Despite the blond pixie and chunky glasses, I’m not actually related to the gorgeous lady with the nice arms pictured at the top of this post! We did, of course, have a nice, Fargoey moment before my shoot filled with telling each other how much we liked each others’ hair.  :)

Lefse: a traditional Norwegian flatbread that most good High Plains residents have as a holiday or Norwegian family meal staple. I’ve shared my grandma’s sandbakkel cookie recipe in the past, I might have to tackle lefse one of these days for you guys… ;)

Can I please go to this camp? Here’s a photo album of what the kiddos get up to, and it all looks like a huge blast!

This is not a sponsored post. I just really love this store and thought it would be fun to share a piece of my home town with you all. You can find Unglued online at their website, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest & Instagram. Can’t make it to Fargo? They have an online shop too.

I don’t own Unglued – I just featured their very excellent store here on my blog. You’d need to call the store directly to see if they do tours.

A note on Very Serious Crafts: In the post I discuss stepping away from the @seriouscrafts podcast to give myself more time to devote to some minor medical issues.
