Heidi from Hands Occupied walks you through how to knit the Twice Turned Stitch. Using a combination of twisted and slipped stitches, this stitch knits up into a nice dense fabric that would be right at home in a warm sweater.

This stitch is just so lovely, don’t you think? This week on YouTube, we’re breaking down how to knit the elegant Twice Turned Stitch. Using a combination of twisted and slipped stitches, this stitch knits up into a nice dense fabric that would be right at home in a warm sweater.

I chose this stitch not just because it’s kind of funky to knit (YouTube being a great medium for teaching in 3D), but also because winter is on the way! A stitch like this is perfect for cold weather wear. The titular two turns in this stitch are created by slipping stitches over the course of three rows, creating a denser-than-average knit fabric that will hold heat nicely. Hot tip! 😉

Twice Turned STITCH VIDEO TUTORIAL

You can watch the video in this blog post, or you can head to the Hands Occupied YouTube Channel to subscribe and get notifications when new videos are posted. Like I mentioned last week, I am aiming for new videos every 1-2 weeks when I’m on a design deadline, which I am now (thankfully – always grateful to get to to this crazy craft thing as my job). So in two weeks, the next video will drop and I will give you a hint: It’s one of my most requested tutorials!
