Happy Crafting with Blitsy

Hands Occupied for Blitsy

At the beginning of this year, I took on a new role as Yarn Correspondent for a company called Blitsy. Based in Chicago, Blitsy sells all kinds of craft supplies at amazing prices, and I’ve been working for them here and there as a knitting & crochet video tutorial host for about a year (you might remember these videos or these). This year, Blitsy brought me even more on board as their yarn expert, so I’ve been keeping busy sharing tutorials, blog posts, videos, live craft demos and more on their site.

Speaking of blog posts, I’m sharing free patterns and tutorials on their blog all the time! These Mug Rugs & the uber-cute cowl below are some of my new patterns for Blitsy.

A LOT of what I share at Blitsy involves video, and I’ve started a playlist on my YouTube channel so you can keep up with what I do over there. I’ve embedded the playlist below to give you a taste of how great Blitsy’s videos are. However, if you really want to keep up with me (including my appearances every Tuesday morning on their home-shopping-network-but-funner Live with Blitsy show), you should subscribe to Blitsy’s beautiful Instagram, super fun Periscope and other social media channels.

The Mega Bulky Cowl. (PS: Cheers to their talented photographer, Maricha – she is so good!)

At Blitsy, I’m sharing all sorts of yarn craft tutorials, starting with knitting and crochet 101, and later this year, I’ll be bringing you macrame, weaving, yarn craft bootcamps, in-person events, and more. I cannot wait to grow and share the content I’m sharing with Blitsy and their amazing, crafty team!

The long and the short of it is that I really love working with Blitsy, and I think you’ll enjoy seeing what I get up to over there. And hey, free patterns are always great! Here’s a sneak peek at what I’ve got up my sleeve for the coming weeks on the Blitsy Blog & Live with Blitsy. :)

Working on a sample for some upcoming videos. It’s an overcast day with intermittent sunshine & I have a scruffy little sidecar. 🐶 Can’t complain!

Peg boards and craft room organization go together Peg boards and craft room organization go together like peanut butter and jelly. So, as you can see, do latch hook tools and screwdriver organizers! 🪛
.
I think this trick translates to any tool with a thick handle, so leather working tools, punch needles, print making tools, etc. should work! What other tools am I, a needlecrafter, blanking on right now?

Pegboard storage is my favorite for craft supplies Pegboard storage is my favorite for craft supplies, so getting a few hung in my new studio has been a priority. Here’s my first attempt. 🔨
.
Details: This pegboard panel is for organizing my knitting needles, latch hook tools, sewing thread, etc. It doesn’t need to hold much weight, so I didn’t anchor this into a stud - just used basic drywall anchors. I’ve also got a set of two 2’x4’ panels for another spot in my studio, and those will need a stud/more than 3 drywall anchors. Wish me luck!

June’s big ears can get cold in winter, so I’m improvising a doggie ear warmer/hood for her. What are the odds she tries to shred it immediately when it’s done?
