Gazzal Pure Wool Review & Giveaway

February 22, 2017 3 Comments

Gazzal Pure Wool - see how this chunky yarn from Hobium knits and crochets, and enter to win a skein!
We’re trying something new here on the new Hands Occupied. Every month, I’m offering a yarn giveaway for you guys! In addition to getting more yarn out in the world, I want to take a quick look at the yarn being raffled off while we’re at it. We’ll take a look at how the yarn knits and crochets up into swatches, go over its pros and cons, and I’ll share some ideas for projects that the yarn is suited for. Sound good?

If you’ve got more ideas for this giveaway & review series, let me know in the comments! This is a new thing, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on what’s working & what isn’t. PS: If you want to skip to the giveaway, you can scroll to the bottom of this post to enter. :)

Gazzal Pure Wool - see how this chunky yarn from Hobium knits and crochets, and enter to win a skein!

The Yarn: Gazzal Pure Wool

Skein details: 71 yards / 65 m, 3.5 oz. / 100g
Knitting needles: US 35, 20 mm / 8 stitches & 12 rows over 4 inches
Crochet hook: US S, 19mm / 6 sc over 4 inches
Cons: Doesn’t stand up well to lots of tearing out – make sure you’re confident in your project before casting on.
Pros: Gazzal Pure Wool is a soft, single-ply yarn made with 100% Australian wool. This chunky yarn works up super fast! I really like it for crochet projects in particular like outerwear and home decor.
Pattern idea: Try the free Round Granny Cushion pattern for crochet or the Faux Woven Cowl for knitting.

    Hi Heidi,

Can you put up a picture of the skein with the label for next time? I like to see what the label looks like for shopping purposes. Also have noticed a problem with the rafflecopter- your twitter feed link is to @hands not @handsoccupied. So it’s linking to someone else!

    Cheers
    Alicia
